Why should I Topdress? The Texas soil structure and drainage can be modified by topdressing with sand or other corrective organic materials. Topdressing regularly can smooth out bumps caused by new sod installation (new home construction) and encourages a dense, lush lawn.
Topdressing reduces lawn stresses, helps keep thatch under control, and acts as a natural fertilizer. Properties in Austin and the surrounding areas, typically have a clay soil structure which gets hard and compacted. This will cause a lot of stress on your lawn and make it harder for your grass to grow. We want to slowly change the soil structure by spreading good quality organic materials that will help loosen the soil and also improve drainage, fertilization and reduce soil compaction. This is a very common issue here in Texas. |
What is Lawn Leveling and why would I want to do that?Maybe you want that nice flat golf course look and use a reel mower? Or maybe you have some ankle breakers in your yard? In either case, we have the solution for you. We will use high quality blends of natural organic material and sand to level your lawn. ALL OUR MATERIAL IS SCREENED! We will not use material that has rocks, sticks, or twigs.

Why should I Core Aerate my lawn? This is probably one of the most overlooked service’s that can be done at a reasonable cost and help your lawn really thrive. Core Aeration creates holes down into the soil to alleviate compaction so air, water and nutrients can reach grass roots.
Deprived of their basic needs by compacted soil, lawn grasses struggle in stressful conditions, such as heat and low rainfall, and lose their healthy, rich color. |
Why is my lawn so unlevel/bumpy?There are various reasons why a lawn can be unlevel, but one of the primary reasons we find is due to the sodding process during a new home build. Typically, the lawn is raked to remove any building debris prior to someone coming in to lay sod.
Little to no prep is done, and the sod is laid on top of this unfavorable soil comprised of mostly clay and compacted soil. This results in a very, very bumpy lawn. Click on these images to of a new home build we serviced. |
